What sponsorship does and does not buy

Does sponsoring change where my server ranks?
No. Sponsored placements sit in their own labelled slots, outside every organic list. The ranking function has no sponsorship term in it, and the score has no sponsorship criterion. If sponsorship could move results, the rankings would be worth nothing to the readers you want to reach.
Can I buy a Claimed or Official badge?
No. Provenance badges are earned: Official means the publisher owns the namespace in the official MCP registry, and Claimed means a person proved they control the project — which is free to do and which a paying customer still has to do themselves. Neither is for sale at any price. The paid labels are Featured, from a premium submission, and Sponsored, from a sponsorship; both are always disclosed and neither enters organic ranking.
How do outbound links work?
Sponsor links carry rel="sponsored", as Google's policy requires for paid placement. Listing links are set by provenance, not payment.
How do I cancel?
One click in the billing portal, at any time. The slot stays live until the end of the period you have already paid for, then expires on its own.
